A climate change task force in American Samoa has identified six areas of concern in its inaugural meeting.
The nine-member group made up mainly of cabinet directors was appointed earlier this month by the Governor, Lolo Matalasi Moliga.
The chairperson, Marine and Wildlife Resources Director Dr Ruth Matagi-Tofiga, says the main concerns are human health, forestry, education, coastal hazards, infrastructure, and energy.
She says each government agency represented on the task force will take responsibility for its area of expertise.
She says the American Samoa Climate Change Initiative will begin on November the 9th, in conjunction with Environment Week.
