Typhoon Krovanh set to miss CNMI

8:45 am on 18 September 2015

The Northern Marianas looks likely to be spared the brunt of Typhoon Krovanh if the system follows its projected path over the next few days.

Krovanh which has wind speeds of over 120 kilometres per hour was expected to head northwest yesterday and then north today taking it away from CNMI, towards Japan.

Emergency management authorities are still warning people living in the northern islands to avoid inter-island crossings for at least another day.

At the beginning of last month Saipan was battered by Typhoon Soudelor.
