Quake rattles Samoas

Residents have been shaken in American Samoa and Samoa by a morning earthquake.

It was orginally recorded as a magnitude 6.2 tremor but was downgraded to a 5.8.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says it was not strong eneough to generate a tsunami.

Some residents of Leone village in American Samoa ran out of their homes to look at whether the sea had receded.

Leone was one of the villages which lost he most people in the 2009 tsunami that killed 34 people in American Samoa.
