Disaster officials in the Federated States of Micronesia say they were lucky a typhoon this week didn't cause more damage to already vulnerable communities.
Last month, Typhoon Maysak killed five people, destroyed 281 homes and destroyed 90 percent of food crops in Yap and Chuuk states.

This week, Typhoon Noul lashed Yap and Ulithi with winds of around 75 miles per hour (120 km/h), downing trees and powerlines.
The Yap Disaster Coordination Officer, Raymond Igechep, says the islands were lucky the storm didn't have a greater impact.
"We are so fortunate that we didn't sustain any loss of life or injury. I was so worried as the forward movement of the typhoon was so slow. At the early stages it was close to zero forward movement and erratic so we are so fortunate."
