The SOE will stay in place for another two weeks.

The government says it wants to ensure the ongoing relief efforts by the National Disaster Management Office, donor agencies and NGOs are reaching all those affected.

It also says it is undertaking the second stage of what it calls a Recovery and Reconstruction Assessments process.

The government says once this is done it will confer with donors to discusss what aid is needed.
