The United States Department of Transportation has granted another waiver to the Samoa government operated Polynesian Airlines so it can continue domestic flights to Manu'a.

This latest approval for the flights within American Samoa lasts until the end of April.

The department's assistant secretary for aviation and international affairs, Susan Kurland, says the approval is in the public interest as there would be no other airline available to service the route, which would affect residents.

Polynesian Airlines has been flying between Tutuila and Manu'a since September under 30-day cabotage waivers from the department.
