Reports from Fiji say Suva health centres are on alert for water-borne diseases as problems caused by last month's raw sewage spill continue.
FBC News says people continue to use water from areas which have been declared an environmental emergency zone.
It says anyone caught breaching the Environmental Emergency Declaration will be liable for a penalty or 12 months imprisonment or both.
However the assistant health minister, Veena Bhatnagar, says that despite numerous warnings, people keep using water sources affected by the sewage spill.
