An outgoing judge in Solomon Islands says corruption is holding back the country's development and he's calling for an independent commission.
Justice Stephen Pallaras has just finished his three year contract and says corruption is everywhere, everybody knows it and he's astonished absolutely no body in authority does anything about it.
He says there is corruption in politics, business, the law, and in the police force.
The Solomon Star says Justice Pallaras is calling for an Independent Commission Against Corruption saying there is no country that needs such an agency more.
He says he fears for the future of Solomon Islanders because children cannot get an education, hospitals are a disgrace, the roads are full of holes, public safety is an issue, and government mismanagement is extensive.
