American Samoa armed robbers caught

Two of the three suspects alleged to have robbed a store at gun point in American Samoa earlier this year, have been arrested and are due to appear in court today.

Samoa News reports that the men are accused of robbing the Gold Conda store in May, the men wore masks and one held a shot-gun, leaving the cashier shaken.

Alatuna Simi and Samuelu Wright have each been charged in relation to the armed robbery and bail is is set at US $100,000 each.

Police used video surveillance footage in their investigation, and witnesses identified a get-away truck allegedly used in the robbery, while one witness identified the driver of the get away car.

The police are still looking for a third suspect.
