The American Samoa tuna cannery, StarKist Samoa, is to resume production on July the 9th, according to a notice from management issued on Monday afternoon.
Last week the American Samoa Environmental Protection Agency gave StarKist Samoa a stop order because of a problem with a discharge pipe below the Starkist pier.
The body blames the cannery for the discoloration of the water in the harbour, and said waste discharge is threatening marine life.
Divers have been working since the weekend to repair the ruptured pipe, and did so today.
