An inquest at the District Court in Samoa has ruled that a bullet from a rifle used by the police caused the death of a village man two years ago.

The rifle was used during a drug raid at the village of Faleatiu..

The outcome has put to rest suspicions over how 32 year old Rapi Lelevaga was shot in the head.

The police force's self loading rifles were used as protection during the raid.

26 witnesses were called to testify in a three day hearing including forensic experts from New Zealand and a pathologist.
