The Papua New Guinea Sports Minister Justin Tkatchenko has reiterated his pledge that all venues and facilities for the 2015 Pacific Games in Port Moresby will be delivered on time.

PNG were awarded the hosting rights four years ago but delays early in the process saw construction and planning fall close to two years behind schedule.

The Pacific Games Minister Tkatchenko visited the future athletes village site last week and says everything is on track.

"We are on target, we are on time. All the venues are already in 30/40 percent construction as we speak. 2014 will be the year of construction for the Pacific Games. It's going to be the biggest year in the country's history, when it comes to sports for infrastructure development and sports enhancement for our players. Moving forward all our committees are working over Christmas, same with all the contractors - they are working over Christmas - there's no holiday here because we've got to make sure that this is the best Games ever that the Pacific has ever seen".
