Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi has been reappointed unopposed by Samoa's Parliament this morning for another five-year-term as Head of State.

The formal nomination of Tui Atua, 74, in the House was made by Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi and seconded by opposition leader Palusalue Faapo II.

A former Prime Minister, Tui Atua was appointed Head of State in June 2007 after the passing of Malietoa Tanumafili II.
