Niue's former high commissioner to New Zealand, Sisilia Talagi, wants to see changes in health and pre-school education if she's elected to parliament in next weekend's elections.
Ms Talagi is one of 17 people contesting the six common roll seats.
It's the first time she has stood for parliament but feels she can bring to the job a lot of experience and understanding of how government works.
Ms Talagi says she has concerns that much of the taonga from Niue's museum is still stored in containers seven years after cyclone Heta hit the island.
She also wants more effort put into providing pre-school education:
"There are quite a lot of young parents here who have kids but they are also working and they are so much under pressure and stress to look for baby sitters and that sort of thing and it sort of distracts them from their work and there's a lot of issues surrounding that."
Sisilia Talagi says government can also do more to educate the public on health issues to cut the need for medical evacuations.
