Samoa MP, Hans Joachim Keil, has asked a federal court in the US state of Missouri to modify his bond conditions to allow him to return to Samoa while his case is pending.

64 year old Mr Keil is facing one count of falsely and willfully representing himself to be a US citizen and one count of willfully and knowingly using and attempting to use a US passport.

To support the motion, his US-based attorney John Kizer said in court documents that Mr Keil has no prior criminal history, no history of violence and is not a threat to the community.
