More dengue cases reported in Fiji

The number of people in Fiji with dengue fever has increased from 60 to 73.

Fijilive quotes the Director of Curative Health Services Dr Ami Chandra, as saying a total of 13 people have been diagnosed with dengue fever in the West.

Divisional Medical officer Western, Dr Tharid Ali said most of the people affected in the West were from Lautoka.

Dr Ali has advised people not to take symptoms lightly and visit their nearest health centre as soon as possible.

He says people should use mosquito nets to protect themselves and others from mosquitoes, take lots of fluids and panadol medication for relief of symptoms.
