Fiji's interim administration has asked an American company to present its project plan and pursue funding of 150-million US dollars for the development of a bio-fuel industry in the country.

An official statement says the government has told Avalor Capital, LLC, that if the cabinet finds the company's plan for the development of the Fiji BioFuels Project acceptable, it will be asked to proceed with it as soon as possible.

The statement says the government considers the development of the ethanol and biodiesel industries in Fiji to be vitally important for the future expansion of the economy.
