Honolulu's Mayor, Mufi Hannemann, has put to rest rumours that he plans to run for one of the two Hawai'i seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Mr Hannemann, who is the first mayor of Honolulu of Samoan ancestry, says he is very happy with what he is doing right now and has no plans of running for Congress.
He said he is committed to serving his full four-year term as mayor and plans to seek re-election in 2008.
Mr Hannemann has been in American Samoa to visit family.
