Airlines Tonga says it plans to cover all domestic routes in the kingdom by the end of next week.

Since Royal Tongan Airlines collapsed in 2004 the outer islands have not been serviced fully.

However the new airline which is joint-owned by Air Fiji and Teta Tours, ran a successful test flight to 'Eua this week and is now planning to launch flights there in February.

The commercial manager for Air Fiji and Airlines Tonga adviser, Shaenaz Voss, says the operation is running well.

"We only started half-way through December and the airline is currently operating to both the Niuas destinations, to Ha'apai, to Vava'u and very soon to 'Eua. In saying that they will be operating to all the airstrips in Tonga."
