Renewed call for public help in hunt for Solomons prisoners

3:12 pm on 28 April 2003

Solomon Islands police have made another plea for public help in attempts to capture four prisoners who escaped from the country's main jail last week.

The escapees include Edmund Sae, a regular police sergeant who is facing a murder charge over the assassination of former police commissioner Sir Frederick Soaki on Malaita in early February.

Police have not set up a specific team to try and recapture the four, but have issued a request that any member of the public with any information about them should come forward.
