For this week's Sonic Moment of Calm, RNZ Concert's Bryan Crump took the slow way to work.
Normally he whizzes down the hill on his bike, but the other day, with his recording device in tow, he walked to the Kelburn Cable Car.
Sure, there were a few tourists around, but not so many as to turn the trip into a squeeze.
You will hear a few whoops of delight as the journey gets under way.
You'll also get some cicada action as Crump alights at the middle station on the route, Everton Terrace, which goes nicely with the whirring of the cables as the car continues its descent down to Lambton Quay.
Listen closely until the end, and you'll even here the sound of distant bells as the car reaches the next station.
