2026 is turning out to be quite a significant year for St Matthew’s Chamber Orchestra.
The ensemble has been a fixture of the musical scene in Auckland for more than 50 years, and this year, for the first time, is appearing in Te Ahurei Toi o Tāmaki Auckland Arts Festival.
The concert is called “Young and Brilliant”, and features three highly talented young soloists - violinist Hayden Chiu, pianist Shan Liu and oboist David Zhu - as well as a new commission by young composer Henry Meng.
