Jiangnan sizhu musicOn Global Sounds this week, we’ve sizhu or ‘silk and bamboo’ music from southwest China performed on the pipa and erhu by Lingling Yu and Guo Gan.

Three mountain passThen we head south to Vietnam and music for the dàn Tranh: it’s a traditional plucked zither that’s similar to the Chinese guzheng or Japanese koto.
