Child abuse 'not the Pacific way' - delegates to UN committee

Ann Marie Skelton, chairperson of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child speaks at the official opening of the “Regional Experience Sharing Workshop on Implementation of Recommendations” by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child was held this morning in Apia, Samoa.

Hosted by Samoa’s  Minister of Women, Community and Social Development, Hon. Mulipola Anarosa Ale Molioo, and heads of regional and international agencies, the three-day meeting is bringing Pacific Island governments and the CRC Committee together to discuss children’s rights issues and to promote a stronger commitment to the implementation of the Convention.
