A toddler in Japan has survived after his father attempted to strangle him and then threw him from the 10th floor of an apartment in Tokyo. The father has been arrested.
Police say he admits trying to kill the boy, first by strangling him and then by throwing him from the balcony of their apartment.
The ABC reports the child landed in a shrub below. Police say he was found conscious and crying, but without any life-threatening injuries.
The family says the father, 37, recently became stressed from work.
He will now undergo a psychiatric evaluation to determine if he was mentally sound at the time of the incident.
