Rain forced US Open tennis organisers to cancel the men's programme on Wednesday, leaving four 4th round matches and two quarter-finals to be carried over to Thursday.
Showers cancelled the day session at Flushing Meadows, but organisers said they will make every effort to play all 4 women's quarter-finals in the evening session.
Second seed Rafael Nadal Andy Roddick and Andy Murray complained to the tournament referee after being sent on to play for only 15 minutes.
Nadal says organisers are putting the safety of players at risk in an effort to make up for lost time.
