Twelve policemen and a child in Afghanistan have been killed in a suicide attack in the southern city of Lashkar Gah. Twelve others were wounded.
The Taliban said it had carried out the attack, which targeted joint Afghan police and army patrol at the gate of the police headquarters in the city.
Lashkar Gah is the capital of Helmand province. The BBC reports it is one of seven areas that have so far been handed back to Afghan control.
