At least six people are dead or missing after floods and heavy rain hit South Korea.

Officials say the downpours are set to continue.

The National Emergency Management Agency says two people, including a rescue worker and a farmer, were killed and four went missing in floods caused by heavy rainfall.

The state weather service has issued storm alerts for most parts of the country and warned of possible storm surges until Tuesday as tropical storm Meari sweeps across the peninsula.

More than 50 flights and 100 ferry services have been cancelled or delayed.
