King Abdullah II of Jordan has officially named his eldest son, Hussein, as the Crown Prince and heir to the throne.
The decree has ended five years of speculation over who his successor might be.
The BBC reports the move was widely expected after the king removed the title of Crown Prince from his half-brother, Prince Hamzah, in 2004.
Since then, the post has been vacant.
