Last-minute preparations continue on the eve of the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth games in Delhi.

Olympic chief Jacques Rogge is expected to be on hand to lend his support to an event blighted by problems.

After a calamitous two weeks of final preparations, most of the 8,000 athletes have arrived in the Indian capital and the focus is shifting to the 11-day sporting festival, which will be officially opened on Sunday night.

The Prince of Wales, Prince Charles, is beginning an official visit to India, during which he will represent the Queen during the opening.
