Forecasters are warning a tropical storm bringing more torrential rain is sweeping towards the region of north-west China hit by a massive landslide.
Three days of rain has been predicted for Gansu province where rescuers are continuing to search the town of Zhouqu for survivors.
More than 700 people were killed in the landslide on Sunday and about 1000 are missing.
More than 1000 homes were damaged or destroyed and another 3000 were flooded.
One problem the authorities face is how to house the survivors.
More than 4000 tents have been sent to Zhouqu county, but mountainous terrain means there is little open space to set up tents.
The BBC reports that only 100 tents have been erected so far.
Specialists in epidemic prevention have been sent to the area as fears of disease spread.
