Thirteen people have been killed after a blast rocked an illegal fireworks factory in eastern China.
The explosion occurred on Saturday afternoon at an abandoned brick kiln that had been illegally transformed into a fireworks factory in the Shandong province of Weifang city.
The owner of the plant said 16 people were working in the plant when it exploded, wounding another two people.
The Chinese state media agency Xinhua reported that local police have detained the owner of the operation and are investigating the explosion.
