Australian highway to close for spacecraft landing

1:28 pm on 7 June 2010

A 60-kilometre section of the Stuart Highway between Adelaide and Darwin will be closed for two hours next Sunday night to allow for the landing of an unmanned Japanese spacecraft.

The ABC reports that the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency will conduct the re-entry of the Hayabusa spacecraft in the Woomera Prohibited Area in South Australia.

This will involve closing the highway between Coober Pedy and Glendambo.
