Apple is recalling a limited number of 15-inch MacBook Pro units sold between 2015 and 2017 that contain a battery that may overheat and pose a safety risk.
The laptops, with retina display, were sold between September 2015 and February 2017 and can be identified by their serial number.
The recall does not affect any other 15-inch MacBook Pro units or other Mac notebooks.
Affected customers will have their batteries replaced without cost.
Earlier the world's biggest smartphone maker, Samsung, was forced to recall its Note 7 model as faulty batteries in some of its devices caught fire.
