3:52 pm on 15 September 2008

A series of bomb explosions has ripped through the heart of India's capital Delhi, killing at least 20 people and injuring many more.

The explosions, which also injured about 90 people, happened in areas crowded with evening shoppers.

Two unexploded bombs were also found and defused, police said

Muslim militant group Indian Mujahideen says it carried out the bombings.

More than 400 people have died since October 2005 in bomb attacks on Indian cities, including Ahmedabad and Bangalore.

Targets have ranged from mosques and Hindu temples to trains.

India has blamed Islamist militant groups for these previous bombings
