Tamate Henry Heke allegedly pushed Shane Merrigan into the path of a truck in December last year, at a busy merger point in the suburb of Eight Mile Plains.

The police say the men had both stopped their vehicles and had a dispute over a traffic incident.

Mr Heke appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today, where his murder charge was dismissed and replaced with manslaughter and unlawful striking.

His family was in court to support him.

He has been committed to stand trial in the Brisbane Supreme Court at a later date.
