Police in St Louis have dispersed a crowd who have been protesting after officers shot and killed a black man.
The US city's police chief said two African-American men were fleeing a police search when one turned and pointed a handgun at his officers.
One policeman fired once, while a second officer shot the victim three times.
The man was said to be in his early 20s.
