A judge has reserved his decision into whether a New Zealand man arrested over a cold-case killing in Switzerland can be extradited.
Swiss authorities want to question the man in relation to a woman's death in December 2000.
The lawyer acting for the Swiss government Simon Barr said the pair were in a relationship which ended some months before the killing, and she was planning to marry someone else.
He said the woman was found dead in her flat with cuts to her throat and the man's fingerprints were found at the flat, including on a glass in the living room.
The man's lawyer Grant Illingworth said the fingerprints were not surprising and they do not mean he was there when she died.
The judge will give his decision later this month.
