Explosives found in house in Brisbane

7:34 am on 9 November 2014

An emergency has continued on Brisbane's south side where police found military-grade explosives in a house yesterday afternoon.

Police said explosive devises and equipment to manufacture bombs were found at the property, in Rochedale South.

But they said the discovery was not linked to terrorism or the G20 meeting next week.

Police went to the house to execute search warrants and discovered home-made explosives, the ABC reported.

The street was closed and residents in neighbouring homes were told to find other accommodation, as it could be days before the area is deemed safe.

Bomb officers were preparing to detonate some of the ordinance at the house overnight.

It is understood three people were living in the house and one man has been taken into custody for questioning.
