More animals killed at zoo

A zoo in Denmark that sparked international outrage when it put down a healthy young giraffe has now killed four of its lions.

Copenhagen Zoo said it could no longer keep the two older lions and two cubs, as it was introducing a new male. It said the male would have killed the young lions.

The four lions were put down on Monday after the zoo was unable to find a new home for them.

Last month zoo director Bengt Holst received death threats after an giraffe was killed with a bolt-gun and fed to the lions.
