British actor Nigel Davenport has died at the age of 85.
He is best known for his role as Lord Birkenhead in the Oscar-winning film Chariots of Fire, according to entertainment news agency WENN.
His big screen credits include the Born Free sequel Living Free, The Island of Dr Moreau and Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes.
Davenport also appeared on British television in hit series such as The Adventures of Robin Hood and The Saint.
