A large number of people are being treated amid a gas leak in northern Brisbane.
The Department of Community Safety said emergency services were called to a school in Banyo after reports of the smell of gas in area about 9.15am (AEST) on Thursday.
AAP reports ambulance crews are treating large numbers of patients for nausea and coughing, but the DCS can't confirm how many people are affected.
"The situation is rapidly changing. We are assessing a large number of patients," a DCS spokeswoman told AAP.
Police said residents and businesses in the suburbs of Banyo, Bracken Ridge and Deagon were being urged to stay indoors.
