Minister believes Labor can win Australia election

Australian Education Minister Bill Shorten believes Labor can win next month's federal election if it can convince enough voters a Coalition government would make serious cuts to public services.

Mr Shorten visited Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane on Tuesday to draw attention to cuts in health spending made by the state government in Queensland.

He said a Coalition government would do something similar across the country - not just to health but to education and other services.

Mr Shorten said the Australian people aren't silly and they know that the Coalition has to cut somewhere to pay for its policies.
