An American animator and visual effects pioneer has died in London.
Long before computers took over the job, Ray Harryhausen, 92, worked laboriously by hand to perfect the "stop-motion" technique that allows miniatures to be turned into monsters and prehistoric creatures.
His films include Clash of the Titans, Jason and the Argonauts and One Million Years BC.
Harryhausen received a special Academy Award for career achievement in 1992.
