US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has left a hospital in New York where she was treated for a blood clot between her skull and brain.

She left New York-Presbyterian Hospital with her husband, former President Bill Clinton, daughter Chelsea, and an aide.

Mrs Clinton was admitted on Sunday when the clot was discovered. She suffered a concussion earlier in the month after falling in her home.

Aides said the former first lady fainted after becoming dehydrated while battling a stomach ailment.

The State Department on Wednesday did not offer an update on her condition.

Doctors said on Monday they expect Mrs Clinton to make a full recovery. She is being treated with blood thinners to dissolve the clot.
