The Philippines has still not decided if it will seek international assistance in the wake of Typhoon Bopha.

The typhoon crossed Mindanao island on Tuesday flattening whole towns and causing flash floods and mudslides.

At least 325 people are dead in eight provinces and another 379 missing. Almost 180,000 people are homeless.

Recovery teams are yet to produce final evaluations on the worst-hit areas.

The United Nations office of humanitarian assistance says the UN is ready to provide aid once the damage is fully assessed.

Some 1500 people were killed by Typhoon Washi in Mindanao almost a year ago.
