Saudi campaigner on trial

A trial has begun of one of Saudi Arabia's most prominent human rights campaigners.

Mohammad al Qahtani faces several charges, including setting up an illegal organisation, turning international organisations against Saudi Arabia and breaking his allegiance to the king.

The accused is an economics professor, who faces five years in prison, if he is found guilty.

He says he has committed no crimes.
