Death row inmate freed

A man who spent almost 30 years on death row in the United States has walked free, after a single strand of hair raised enough doubts about his guilty verdict.

Edward Elmore was convicted for the murder of an elderly woman he worked for as a handyman.

There have been doubts about the verdict from the start, but ultimately it was a strand of hair found on the body of the victim that freed Mr Elmore. It was blond and was not his.
