Police have released photos of items found last week on a dead man, in the hopes someone will recognise them and tell them who he was.
The body was found on Horotane Valley Road, in Christchurch's Heathcote Valley on Friday 19 September.
He was in his 30s or 40s, with a distinctive birthmark on his left forearm, police said. He was wearing a black long sleeve woollen jersey, black trousers and grey tramping boots.
He also had a backpack containing items such as a bike pump.
"We appreciate all those who have come forward with information so far and continue to follow lines of enquiry where they become available," Detective Sergeant Chris Power said on Tuesday.
"Unfortunately, the man remains unidentified. Police are hoping that these images, paired with a description of the deceased, may be recognised by someone in the community."
