A car is caught in a slip that has blocked State Highway 3 at Uruti about an hour northeast of New Plymouth.

Police said both lanes of Mokau Road were impassable near the intersection with Uruti Road, after the slip came down at 2.30pm.
They said the occupants of the vehicle were unhurt.
There were no detours available and motorists should avoid the area or expect delays, police said.
